Upcoming Exhibitions

Spring Exhibition #1 | Reclaimed

Friday, January 31st through Sunday, March 23rd

Curated by Jules Buck Jones

Reclaimed is an Open Call exhibition on view at ARTSPACE Wimberley from Jan 31 – Mar 23, 2025. Thirteen artists have been selected by a jury of ARTSPACE staff from a pool of more than eighty submissions. The selected artworks exemplify a wide range of interpretations of the theme, and different approaches to the idea of reclamation.

Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and a chance to meet some of the featured artists at our opening reception on Saturday, February 1, from 5-7 pm.

Reclaimed artists are Elaine Bradford, Deanna Carrillo, Thomas Cook, Jonas Criscoe, Chrys Grummert, Roberto Jackson Harrington, Lindsey Hurd, Jay Jones, Alexander Kamelhair, John Mulvany, Gisette Padilla, Doerte Weber, and Jenn Wilson Shepherd.

Spring Exhibition #2 | The 4th Chair Project

Friday, April 4th through Sunday, May 4th

Curated by Heather Carter & Jules Buck Jones

The second spring exhibition, The 4th Chair Project, showcases a select group of artists invited to create a “chair” or other work that reflects, symbolizes, or conjures a “chair”.

The idea for the exhibition evolved when a functional sculpture we conceptualized, designed, and created with our Practicum student resulted in a predicament. We created 4 chairs for our ARTSPACE patio but ultimately chose to display 3 due to space constraints.

This decision prompted patrons to inquire, “Where’s the 4th chair?” and “Is there a 4th chair?”.

The answer was clear, “Yes, ARTSPACE”.

ARTSPACE is a mixed-use arts education and gallery space, owned and operated by projectART Wimberley, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to “support art education and provide creative opportunities for area students”.

The missing 4th chair is a metaphor highlighting the absence of art in the public schools – an absence we strive to fill with our programming.
